So I was thinking about what to blog about in December and I started thinking about the wildfires that are being fought near me in Western North Carolina. Thank goodness the worst is over, but there are still plenty of hotspots to keep the firefighters busy. So perhaps smoke and fire? Which then got me thinking about the elements: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. So consider this month as the first in a series about gemstones and the elements.
I have a problem…I love to buy stones. I have my online sources to get some of the coolest stones, and it makes my heart sing when I find something new. Recently, my guy in India sent me a picture of some cabochons and I just flipped over the beautiful colors. I was a goner and they were going to be mine.
It’s October, and my birthday is in October. I like to think it should be more than just a birth-day; I like the idea of a birth-month. What’s better than a whole month of cake? Well, nothing really, but a month full of Opals, the birthstone for October, comes a close second.

I know it’s only March, but wedding season is upon us (heck, wedding season is year-round if truth be told). Accessorizing for the bridal party can often be a source of stress for the brides, but for me, it can be the source of my inspiration.
