Turquoise, the famous blue-green stone, is stunning. It can be raw, mixed with iron and rock or it can be polished to a high sheen with a translucent gleam. Either way, December birthdays are fortunate to have claim to one of the oldest stones in existence.
Tourmaline might be the lesser known birthstone of October, but it is by no means a lesser stone. It is uniquely colorful, sometimes containing as many as three colors in one crystal, and, like all birthstones, has fun mystical properties associated with it.
Rubies are one of my favorite stones to work with. The deep red goes beautifully with both gold and silver. They’re a perfect gift for July birthdays!
